Reality Check.

Haven't sung, REALLY sung, in a while. Ya know, OPERA STYLE. So when Noah was pestering me because I was singing random ditties all day instead of talking, Backyardigan-style, I told him I used to REALLY sing. And I sang him "O Mio Babino". And then I sang "Amerilli Mi Bella". And by the end, I was just really filled with joy at letting my pipes loose and REALLY singing, that I was a bit choked up at the end. Tears and everything.

Then Noah, hearing me sniffle a bit at the end, said, "Why do you make the snot?"

Like some foreign gangster, or something--- "Why-a-you make-a de snot?"

And I burst out laughing, the moment gone.

Reality check.

And that's okay.

(I'm still gut-laughing when I think of him saying, "Why do you make the snot?")

I love it - but I'm also really glad you let loose and SANG IT.

My therapist has recommended that (singing out) to me as one of the tools in my therapeutic tool box, and it sounds like you may need it even more than I do sometimes :) Wish I'd been there to hear it.
