Noah's 10-Month Photos: LOTSA Pics!!

I'm such a tease... ! So sorry I promised you a Saturday entry, and it is now five days later. ACK! Such is the life of a flake, and that is ME. To make up for it, I have WAAAAY more photos than you expected, and probably more than you want. But frankly, I love them all, and I couldn't decide which to omit, so I just put all of them on. (Okay, actually there ARE like four more, but I was being choosy. Haha!)

Now, before we go on, let me explain that this little gem of an outfit is ALL circa 1982, and was worn by my kid bro, Steven. My mom, bless her, held onto a few of the best outfits, and look how Noah is benefiting?? (Poor kid!) What a retro vintage cutie!

Shoes, too. Aren't they AWESOME?

And as for the ten-month details? Well, I'll throw a few in, even though you are all exhausted after viewing all 42 photos. (Okay, only 12 or so, but still...)

1. Noah is working so hard on imitating sounds-- animal sounds like elephants and lions, and he is really concentrating on my monkey noise. Every time I do it, he tries a new way of imitating it, almost like he is thinking, "I KNOW I can get that sound, I CAN. But how?"

2. He has gotten weirdly picky about his eating. Some meals he is his usual, eat-everything champ, but other meals he just closes his eyes and his lips, and keeps his hands up (like a boxer) to ward off any feeding attempts. Odd. Also, he seems to be getting into the texture aversion right now, so anything wet or slimy (unless it is his own spit that made it so) is NOT fun for him to pick up and eat. So peaches, green beans, bananas, etc. are out for now.

3. Noah is a cruising champ. He cruises along our couch, our bed, his toy desk in his bedroom, etc. He LOVES to stand, and loves to lean his against things and go "handless" for a while. The other day, he was leaning against my knees, facing out, and I had a long skirt on. He grabbed a piece of skirt with each hand and pulled the skirt folds around him in a flirtatious way, charming the socks off of Beckie and Kyle, who were over visiting.

4. He has taken to standing up in the tub, holding onto the sides. I am leery of this, but try to let him practice it a bit, all while my hands hover VERY close to his wet, slippery little being.

5. He still lets me put him in the sling. In the ring sling, I do the hip carry, and in the mei tai, I have him on my front, facing me, still. He is more patient with the ring sling, but both are okay for him.

6. Noah is getting really good at table eating. We are feeling pretty liberated going to restaurants and letting him feed himself while we feed ourselves. It's a new kind of freedom! Along with that, however, is the onslaught of that age-old game, new to him-- DROP things and Mom or Dad will pick them back up! How fascinating!

7. The off-limits things Noah is currently drawn to: the house plants, the telephone outlet, a couple of vintage cameras on the entertainment center, the stack of board games, the vacuum cord, the plunger (eeeewwww!), and the surround sound cords. Luckily, he has not ever REALLY been given the opportunity to get really close and personal with any of these. But man, we spend a lot of time leading him away!

8. Noah has gotten some wonderful Grandma time with his Grandma Vicki who currently lives in Korea. It has been so cool to see him get to a level of true familiarity with her these past few weeks. We can't wait for Grandpa Joe to join her in another two weeks, and for him to get his own Noah time!

9. Noah' s current favorite books: Little Gorilla, The Hungry hungry Caterpillar, and Buzz, Buzz Baby.

10. Noah is forming a happy attachment to his Noah's Ark blanket his Grandma Lambson made him... so along with his lammy lovey, he also now loves to snuggle with his soft Noah blanket.

Ten is good, for ten months, don't you think?

So 'til next time, thanks for indulging my "proud-mama" syndrome with such a long post!

Beautiful shots, as always. He seems to look more and more like you as each month goes by - it's the sparkle in the eyes!

Emily--i envy you, really. That's bad, huh? One of the 7 deadly sins, that ugly envy. If I could only dream of taking such lovely pictures...hmm!

The pictures are adorable. And I'm SO with you on so many of the things on that list. . . WHY are they drawn to the things they can't have? Would they even notice them if we didn't say no?

It's so fun at this stage isn't it!! I love little Joren and his super excitement at being able to get into things. Wish I was there to kiss your little cutie.
