Noah's Morning Chatter

Noah woke this morning in such a good mood. As I lifted him out of bed, he asked about snow, so we went to the window together. I opened the blinds to show him it was still snowy, and he launched into the following chatter:

"'Z'it snowin'? De snowin'?
Ze Muh-ee? Auntie Muh-ee? De eh-ee-ator? Ze up-uh-down?
Oh. Oh! 'Z 'it Ma GICK house? Ma-GICK house ee eh-ee-ator?
EHWL? EHWL? Oh. Oh!..."

And I just held him and stared, utterly amused by the liveliness of his mind so early in the morning, and by what was obviously absorbing his little mind completely. I wondered if he had been dreaming of all that stuff.

And oh, what's that? You need a translation? You mean you are not fluent in Noah dialect?

Okay, here it is:

'Z'it snowin'? De snowin'?
Is it snowing? The snowing?

Ze Muh-ee? Auntie Muh-ee? De eh-ee-ator? Ze up-uh-down?
The Mary? Auntie Mary? The elevator? The up-and-down?
(Mary came to stay a few days, and had a hotel with an elevator. Noah was HOOKED, and now the two go hand-in-hand... Mary and elevators.)

Oh. Oh! 'Z 'it Ma GICK house? Ma-GICK house ee eh-ee-ator?
Oh. Oh! Is it the Magic House? Magic House and elevator?
(The fun children's place we finally got a membership to. And he says GICK, not JICK, and it is cute.)

EHWL? EHWL? Oh. Oh!..."
L? L? Oh. Oh!
(The elevator at the Magic House has "L" for the first floor instead of "1", and he is OBSESSED with it. Seriously.)

And so... That is how we began our morning... A vibrant, excited little guy and his sleepy, happy mama.

Hmmm... I HAVE to find a way to go the Magic House with this kid! And soon! (BTW- I really think he'd get a kick out of the Children's Museum here, when you guys come in February- I've heard great things about it, and it WILL be open on Presidents' Day, so if you want to go for it, that is definitely an option...).
Love this kid.
Love you.

Love it! He's just yummy. And now that the brains AND mouths are on rapid-fire, there isn't a day that goes by that he won't surprise you. Thanks for the great window to your day!

I absolutely love mornings like that. He is beyond adorable. Is it sad that I didn't really need the translation??
