Lucy's naptime the other morning... Noah and I struck a perfect balance of both getting to do what we wanted to do, and still be in each other's close company (Noah's wish, really...).
Noah, playing with moon dough:
His game, which kept him thoroughly happy for over an hour---- a toothpick played the role of Dr. Claw (from Inspector Gadget), while a paintbrush played the role of Bumblebee the Transformer... And they battled over the "ship" (the mound of moon dough) and took turns destroying it and rebuilding it. It was simple, plain, uncomplicated fun, and he was in heaven.
Meanwhile, I stood next to him at my half of the table, happily cutting out fabric for three different sewing projects. I loved getting to stockpile the cut projects, knowing when the urge came to sew, I'd be READY already--- so much fun to have pre-cut projects lined up!
It was basically the perfect morning... both of us happy as little clams... together.
