Noah-isms

A few things Noah's been saying/doing that I don't want to forget:

1. Instead of "dental floss", he insists it is GENTLE floss.

2. He is really articulate and says nearly all his consonants wonderfully... but "th" eludes him... so it is cute to hear him talk about The Avengers, with Tony, Hulk, Captain America.... and FOR.  It always takes me a moment to realize he's referring to the immortal from Asgard and not just saying a number or something.

3. Today in Primary, when asked what he was thankful for, he skipped the usual answers of family and such, and instead said, in all seriousness, "X-ray machines. And satellites." And why not? They ARE useful and worthy of our gratitude!

4. Instead of "destroy", he says "REstroy". Instead of "construction", he says, "Muh-struction". Until recently, instead of CEment truck, he'd say only "MENT truck".

5. He calls all police cars "Paul the Police Car" from a cheapy dollar book from Target.

6. He learned in preschool to do "thumbs up" or "thumbs down", or to make an "x" or a check with his fingers... so out of the blue, if he disapproves of something, he'll suddenly say, "EX!!!" or "Thumbs down, Mom." It makes him seem older and kinda rebellious/hip. It makes me laugh every time. Conversely, he'll sometimes do the positive hand gestures and give us a "check" or a thumbs up. Yahoo!

7. He not only likes to pretend to be robots (Wall-e, Iron Giant, Iron Man [I know, not TECHNICALLY a robot, but Noah thinks of him as one], Ultron, etc.), he went through a phase where he was obsessed with pretending to be a fire alarm. This stemmed from an accidental alarm that went off at his preschool a month ago or so. He became enthralled with all fire devices (extinguishers, smoke detectors, etc.) and not only asked about them and pointed them out (which he still does), but PRETENDED TO BE THEM. Specifically, a fire alarm.

8. This obsession carried into his preschool crafting, when he decided to name his handprint turkey painting "Fire Alarm".

9. He calls smoke detectors "holo-detectors" because of the movie WALL-E. He remembers that word better than the actual name.

10. He has become FASCINATED with anatomy/physiology since Dad gave him some lessons on why he didn't need to sanitize all the time. Dad taught him about red and white blood cells, and that led to more conversations about oxygenating blood, lungs, veins, etc.... and now, Noah will often say to Joe, "Tell me about some more blood, Dad." He's begun calling these conversations, "Blood Oxygen Style".

I cannot believe this kiddo is already 4... And he just gets more marvelous every day. I love these little things about him, and have so much fun being his mama. :)
